Thank you all, The amazing thing is that the sky was still clear... the dark edges around the shot were clear sky, and the halo appeared from extremely wispy clouds, hardly obliterating it at all. I noticed this glowing moon also from Illinois in the United States the other night. So odd and beautiful. It was huge, super bright, and had the odd colored orange-brownish glow on the outer circle. By the time I got my camera the clouds had dispersed and it had changed. Super picture, wish I would have caught it myself. Action: \| Ignore User

Great moon photo but the moon was put in after the photo was taken. I see at least 3 things wrong with this photo along this line. The main observation is that the moon, the source of light is less bright than other parts of the photo, this is impossible. Action: \| Ignore User

I am a retired teacher of Technology who relaxes, (whenever possible), by walking in the beautiful English countryside. I have just purchased my first DSLR. I settled on the Canon 450D (Rebel)with the 18-55 lens. Then of course I had to get the zoom lens, (55-250). It is an expensive hobby this photography!
