Thank you everyone. The moon was so bright last evening, and shone out of a clear sky. Then as I watched, these very fine clouds surrounded the l moon, turning red, letting the moon shine though.

The amazing thing is that the sky was still clear... the dark edges around the shot were clear sky, and the halo appeared from extremely wispy clouds, hardly obliterating it at all. It was the red halo that attracted me.

I noticed this glowing moon also from Illinois in the United States the other night. So odd and beautiful. It was huge, super bright, and had the odd colored orange-brownish glow on the outer circle. By the time I got my camera the clouds had dispersed and it had changed. Super picture, wish I would have caught it myself.
